Watch this space for announcements on our next ‘Spring School’, taking place in March next year. ABC Salt’s last Summer School in August 2019 was on Advanced thermochemical conversion biomass technologies and it took place at Aston University, Birmingham, United Kingdom. We welcome you in advance for what will be a great networking and learning event, right on the city centre’s exciting doorstep. Travel information

The Aston University campus is located in the centre of Birmingham, within 10-15 minutes walk of the main shopping, business and entertainment areas of the city.

By train:
Birmingham New Street Station is the nearest main-line station to Aston University, a short 10-15 minutes walk away. The station has direct lines to most parts of the UK and many local services. It also connects Birmingham city centre with the Birmingham International Airport. National Rail Enquiries is a official portal into UK rail travel including train times, fares and bookings.

By plane:
It is easy to get from Birmingham International Airport to Aston University. Birmingham International Airport has flights within the UK and across Europe, and it is serviced by many airlines that operate regular scheduled services. A free shuttle service runs between Birmingham International airport and the Birmingham International train station. Several trains an hour run from Birmingham International train station directly to New Street Station and take approximately 10 minutes. Aston University is 10-15 minutes walk away from the New Street Station. Alternatively, the airport is approximately 20 minutes away by taxi (£25-30).

By coach:
Coach services by National Express operate from Digbeth coach station, which is a short taxi ride (£5-7) or 20 minutes’ walk through the city centre. National Express has regural direct services to the following airports: Manchester, Luton, Stansted, Heathrow and Gatwick.
